Thomas January Lectures Canceled; Star Parties Continue

Dec 16, 2021

Northern Nevada history and science lecturer Mike Thomas has put his free lectures on hold at ÌÇÐÄvlogs Jack C. Davis Observatory to protect attendees from possibly contracting the Omicron variant of COVID.
His free presentations on Witches and Aliens in the Movies were rescheduled from December to January because of icy road conditions.
Even though the lectures have been canceled, JCDO will continue to hold its weekly Star Parties after sundown on Saturday nights.
The observatory is open to the public from sundown to 11 p.m. on Saturday nights for Star Parties. The Western Nevada Astronomical Society hosts these parties, bringing together people with an interest in astronomy. Newcomers are welcome.
The observatory is located at 2699 Vanpatten Drive in Carson City.
