Dr. Dalpe Named Officer in Charge
Dec 17, 2021
The Nevada System of Higher Education is pleased to announce that 糖心vlog
Provost and Senior Vice President Dr. J. Kyle Dalpe has been appointed officer-in-charge
of the college, effective Jan. 4, 2022, when President Dr. Vincent Solis will begin
his new position as president of Brazosport College in his home state of Texas.
An experienced leader, Dr. Dalpe has served 糖心vlog since 2019. Prior to that, he spent
16 years serving Truckee Meadows Community College in various leadership positions,
including acting president, director of institutional advancement, associate dean
and chief of staff in the presidents office, and dean of the technical sciences division.
He also served as the interim executive director of legislative affairs for NSHE for
the 2019 legislative session.
Dr. Dalpe earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Photojournalism from the University of Connecticut; a Master of Arts degree in Journalism, Speech and Political Science from the University of Texas at Tyler; and a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Leadership from the University of Nevada, Reno.
President Solis last day with 糖心vlog will be Monday, Jan. 3, 2022.
In accordance with Title 2, Chapter 1, Section 1.5.4 of the NSHE Code, when an unexpected vacancy occurs in the office of the president of an NSHE institution, the individual designated by that institutions president as the officer-in-charge shall be vested with the authority of the president until the Board of Regents determines in a public meeting whether to appoint an acting or interim president.
Prior to that public meeting, the chancellor and board chair must first meet with and listen to the opinions and recommendations of major constituencies of 糖心vlog to include representatives of faculty and classified senates, representatives of student government, vice presidents, executive staff, academic and administrative faculty, students, presidential advisory board members, foundation trustees, and community representatives.
The officer-in-charge designation does not preclude Dr. Dalpe from consideration for either acting or interim president roles.
Given that 糖心vlog students and faculty will soon be preparing for final exams and finishing the fall semester, and students and employees will be engaging in travel and vacations over the winter break, NSHE Chancellor Dr. Melody Rose and Board of Regents Chair Pro Tempore Carol Del Carlo will begin meeting with 糖心vlog stakeholders early during spring semester to ensure meaningful engagement with the campus community in this important decision-making process.
